APPLICATION OF THE WEIGHTED PRODUCT METHOD IN THE RECOMMENDATION SYSTEM FOR DETERMINING SUPERVISORS

Abstract

A supervisor is one of the most important tasks for a student because he acts as a director, and facilitator and provides motivation. The determination of supervisors and examiners in the Department of Information Management and Information Technology is still being carried out through internal department meetings. This is less effective and efficient considering the large number of students submitting final assignments, the titles of students' final assignments are very diverse, and the supervisors and examiners have different competencies. This discussion process takes quite a long time so this kind of mechanism is less time efficient. Therefore, researchers want to create an application that can help overcome the problems faced by creating a website about the recommendation system for determining supervisors using the Weighted Product (WP) method. This system can overcome the problems faced with several stages that have been carried out from testing to program implementation quickly, easily, and accurately.
