Abstract

This research focuses on the importance of quality healthcare services in hospitals, particularly in the Emergency Department (ED). Hospitals, as healthcare facilities, must be able to provide services that meet patient needs, especially in emergency situations. However, the patient registration process in the Emergency Department of Islam Bontang Hospital is still conducted manually, leading to long waiting times and a high potential for data errors. This can negatively impact patient safety and service efficiency. Therefore, there is a need for an information system that can automate the registration process to improve efficiency and accuracy. The research methodology used in the development of this information system is the Waterfall method, which includes several stages: requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. This study begins with data collection through observation and surveys to understand the existing problems, followed by analysis to design a system that meets the needs of the ED. The results indicate that the implementation of a computerized patient registration information system can expedite and enhance the accuracy of the registration process. Reducing waiting times and data errors has the potential to improve service quality in the ED. This system is expected to provide significant benefits for the hospital and patients, as well as serve as a reference for further research in the field of health information systems
